WANT Wednesdays
Jul 9th, 2008 by Waffles
Now that the music post-off is over and I kicked everyone’s ass (heh heh), I would like to start a regular feature called WANT Wednesdays. That’s when I post things that I’ve found online throughout the week. Gadgets, gizmos, doo-dads, and other neccessities of life. If you know me, I’m a packrat. Yessir, the Waffle House is full of crap that I’ve collected through the years. And if I could afford many of these things, as they are usually fairly expensive, I would own them.
AN INFLATABLE DALEK (OMGZOMGZ!!!1!)
I saw this on Butter’s post about the Electronica band playing Doctor Who theme music. At the end, they threw out an inflatable dalek to crowd surf.
“How come I’ve never even thought about the fact that this may exist,” I said to myself.
Naturally, I had to find one right away. I Googled on over to Otherland Toys, a Brit site selling toys and collectibles (or as they spell it over ‘cross the pond, “collectables”) You can get a black one like the one on the left, or a coppery-gold colored one.
It’s a mere 23-pounds-54-quid, which equates to about $56 American, which is a little pricey for me. But someday, maybe I can afford it. That’s not including the shipping from the UK.
Butter, you wanna order one in the opposite color and we can get together with our daleks and geek out?
Check out the product page here.
You know what? Let me just give you the link to all the Doctor Who merchandise on that site. It’s all really cool. Check it, particularly the TARDIS Zipperobe, the Dalek Cookie Jar (in which I’ve told my wife I want my ashes put when I die), and the Sonic Screwdriver LED flashlight.
Okay, I can’t rightly say why I want one of these, except that I think it’s kinda cool. Check out the product description:
Wii Klik Candy Dispenser 12ct. from Au’some Confections, shoots out bubble gum Smarties candy from a dispenser that looks exactly like an actual Nintendo Wii controller. Incredibly detailed and even includes the official Nintendo seal. Packaged candy comes 12 pieces per display box.
It’s $20 for two of the “controllers” and looks just like a real one. C’mon. It’s cool. Right? Right?!? Here’s where you can buy it.
That’s it for now. Stay tuned next week!
