Nothing says “FAIL” (Hi, Dave!) quite like Star Trek: The Animated Series. Butter and I watches several episodes recently, and WOW, the animation, the plots, and everything was just craptastic. The best part was the James Doohan, Scotty from the Original Series, did the voice for almost every guest character. They figured that since he wasn’t using a Scottish accent, we wouldn’t recognize him. But we did.
That said, the Animated series was great because there are many, many parodies of it out there on teh interwebs. Today I bring you a mashup of Uhura with a monologue from Nichelle Nichols (who played Uhura) from a Blaxploitation firm, “Truck Turner.” It’s great fun.
Poor Spock. He always takes all the abuse.
I will say that a familiarity with this series makes Stephen Colbert’s Tek Jansen cartoons much funnier.
